Becoming a Twitch Affiliate!
Recently, while I’ve been quarantined at home for the past few months, I’ve taken up live streaming as a way to have some more fun while doing my regular cubing practice. After about a month of weekly streaming, I received an email from Twitch saying that I was invited to become a Twitch Affiliate!
According to Twitch’s website, the requirements to becoming an Affiliate are:
- At least 500 total minutes broadcast in the last 30 days.
- At least 7 unique broadcast days in the last 30 days.
- An average of 3 concurrent viewers or more over the last 30 days.
- At least 50 Followers.
I hadn’t even completed requirement #2 when I became an Affiliate, which I found odd. Perhaps this was because I had already surpassed the other requirements by quite a lot.
The main perk of being an Affiliate is that I can now put ads onto my Twitch streams, meaning I can now earn money from my live streams and enjoy it in the act! In a sense, the Affiliate Program is just a win-win situation for streamers like myself. 🙂
